However, many elementary school students continue to experience difficulties in generating ideas, organizing paragraphs, and expressing thoughts effectively in written form. This study aimed to examine the effect of the Think Talk Write (TTW) cooperative learning model on the writing skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 11 Sengkuang Bora, Melawi Regency, West Kalimantan. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The participants consisted of 22 fourth-grade students selected through total sampling. Data were collected through writing tests administered before and after the implementation of the TTW model. Students’ writing performance was assessed based on content, organization, vocabulary, language use, and mechanics. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, and a paired-sample t-test with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics Version 27. The results revealed that students’ mean writing score increased from 62.77 in the pretest to 77.95 in the posttest, indicating an improvement of 15.18 points. The normality test confirmed that both datasets were normally distributed, with significance values greater than 0.05. Furthermore, the paired-sample t-test produced a significance value of 0.000, which was lower than the 0.05 significance level. These findings indicate that the Think Talk Write learning model had a significant positive effect on students’ writing skills. The study concludes that TTW is an effective instructional strategy for enhancing elementary students’ writing achievement by promoting active thinking, collaborative discussion, and structured writing practices.
Minyarahmah, Waridah Copyright (c) 2026 Educia Journal http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ https://scieclouds.com/ojsnew/index.php/ej/article/view/321 Tue, 02 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Ethnopedagogical Learning Management Based on Banten Culture: An Innovation for Strengthening Early Childhood Character through the Integration of Digital Portfolios https://scieclouds.com/ojsnew/index.php/ej/article/view/325
The limited integration of local cultural values into early childhood education management has raised concerns regarding the effectiveness of character development programs in increasingly globalized societies. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of an ethnopedagogical learning management model based on Banten local culture integrated with digital portfolios in strengthening early childhood character. A quantitative approach employing a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group was utilized. The study involved 130 children aged 4–6 years from several kindergartens in Banten Province, Indonesia, who were assigned to experimental and control groups. The intervention was implemented through a structured learning management model that incorporated local cultural values into planning, implementation, assessment, and stakeholder collaboration processes, while digital portfolios were used to document and monitor children's developmental progress. Data were collected using validated observation instruments measuring three dimensions of character development: discipline, empathy, and independence. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality and homogeneity tests, independent sample t-tests, and N-Gain analysis. The findings revealed a statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups (p < 0.05). The experimental group achieved a high effectiveness category with an average N-Gain score of 0.75, compared to 0.32 in the control group. The results indicate that the integration of ethnopedagogical principles and digital portfolio systems contributes not only to improved character development but also to more culturally responsive and sustainable educational management practices. The study highlights the potential of culture-based learning management as a strategic approach for strengthening children's character while preserving local cultural identity in the digital era.
Maya LaelaSari, Asep Muhyidin, Aan Asphianto, Ujang Jamaludin Copyright (c) 2026 Educia Journal http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ https://scieclouds.com/ojsnew/index.php/ej/article/view/325 Wed, 03 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Negotiation of Tradition and Modernity Practices and Meanings of Marriage Beliefs in the Mangir Community, Bantul https://scieclouds.com/ojsnew/index.php/ej/article/view/335
This study examines the persistence and transformation of marriage beliefs within the Mangir community of Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, in the context of increasing modernization and social change. While modernization is often associated with the decline of traditional practices, local marriage traditions in Mangir continue to influence decision-making and social behavior across generations. This research aims to explore how marriage beliefs are maintained, legitimized, and negotiated within contemporary social contexts. A qualitative case study approach was employed to investigate the experiences, interpretations, and practices of community members. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving traditional leaders, village officials, married community members, and younger-generation residents. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of qualitative analysis consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings reveal that marriage beliefs persist through the interaction of collective memory, personal experience, family socialization, and traditional authority. Practices such as petungan (auspicious day calculations), ngalang (ritual detouring), restrictions associated with Wednesday Pon, and post-marital residential norms function as culturally embedded mechanisms for managing uncertainty and preserving social harmony. The study further demonstrates that younger generations do not simply reject traditional beliefs but actively negotiate them through adaptive strategies that accommodate modern educational, occupational, and mobility demands while maintaining cultural legitimacy. These findings suggest that tradition and modernity are not mutually exclusive but coexist through continuous processes of cultural adaptation and reinterpretation. The study contributes to broader discussions on cultural resilience, community-based risk management, local wisdom, and the sustainability of traditional institutions in contemporary society.
Sriyantini, Muhammad Iqbal Birsyada Copyright (c) 2026 Educia Journal http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ https://scieclouds.com/ojsnew/index.php/ej/article/view/335 Wed, 10 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Determinant Factors of E-Learning Adoption in Higher Education: A Systematic Review and Contextual Study of PEGASUS at Palembang Tourism Polytechnic https://scieclouds.com/ojsnew/index.php/ej/article/view/327
The rapid digitalization of higher education has increased the importance of understanding the factors that influence e-learning adoption, particularly within vocational and tourism-oriented institutions. This study aims to identify and synthesize the key determinants of e-learning adoption in higher education and to contextualize these findings for the implementation of the PEGASUS platform at Palembang Tourism Polytechnic. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Relevant studies published between 2015 and 2025 were retrieved from major academic databases, including Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect. A total of 47 eligible studies were selected and analyzed using thematic synthesis. The findings reveal that e-learning adoption is influenced by four interconnected dimensions: technological, individual, social, and organizational factors. Individual factors emerged as the most influential determinants, with performance expectancy and effort expectancy identified as the strongest predictors of adoption. Technological infrastructure, accessibility, and system quality were found to be essential enabling conditions, while social influence and institutional support significantly shaped users’ acceptance and continued use of e-learning systems. The review also highlights the unique challenges faced by tourism education institutions, where practical training, experiential learning, and interpersonal skill development limit the effectiveness of fully online learning environments. Consequently, blended learning is identified as the most suitable approach for tourism higher education. The study concludes that successful e-learning adoption requires not only technological readiness but also organizational capability, strategic leadership, and continuous capacity building. These findings provide practical insights for strengthening digital transformation initiatives and optimizing the implementation of PEGASUS at Palembang Tourism Polytechnic.
Irvan Setiadi, Alek Wijaya Copyright (c) 2026 Educia Journal http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ https://scieclouds.com/ojsnew/index.php/ej/article/view/327 Thu, 18 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Analysis of National Hoax Data for the Development of Digital Literacy in Indonesia: A Data-Driven Study and its Implications for Education Policy https://scieclouds.com/ojsnew/index.php/ej/article/view/333
The increasing use of digital media has facilitated information access while simultaneously accelerating the spread of hoaxes and misinformation. However, opportunities for structured physical movement in early childhood education settings are often limited, resulting in insufficient stimulation of children's gross motor skills. This study aimed to analyze the role of the movement and song method in the development of gross motor skills among children at TK Negeri 2 Tanah Pinoh, Melawi Regency, West Kalimantan. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving classroom teachers and Group B children as research participants. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation and were analyzed using the interactive model of data analysis, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the movement and song method contributed significantly to the development of children's locomotor, non-locomotor, and manipulative skills. Through activities involving coordinated body movements and rhythmic songs, children demonstrated improved balance, coordination, agility, and body control. In addition, the method increased children's participation, enthusiasm, concentration, and confidence during learning activities. The findings further indicate that movement and song activities create a holistic learning environment that simultaneously supports physical, emotional, and social development. The study concludes that the movement and song method is an effective and developmentally appropriate pedagogical strategy for enhancing gross motor development in early childhood education. Therefore, integrating movement-based learning activities into daily classroom instruction is recommended to promote active learning and support children's overall developmental outcomes.
Umi Kalsum, M. This study used a quantitative correlation method. Thirty students were randomly selected to form the sample. A questionnaire was used to collect data, and SPSS was used to analyze the results using simple linear regression. The results showed that “each instrument is valid and reliable. Linearity and normality tests indicate that the data have a linear relationship and are normally distributed. However, the results of the simple linear regression test showed a significance value of 0.244 (> 0.05), which indicates that students' polite behavior is not substantially affected by how much they use TikTok. The variable of TikTok use only accounts for about 4.8% of students' polite behavior, with other factors outside the scope of this study reaching 95.2%, according to the coefficient of determination (R-squared) value of 0.048. In conclusion, students' polite behavior is not primarily influenced by how much time they spend on TikTok.” For students to use social media responsibly, the involvement of parents and teachers in monitoring and character education is very important.
Muhammad Anwar Ibrahim, Moch Charis Hidayat, Shokhibul Arifin Copyright (c) 2026 Educia Journal http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ https://scieclouds.com/ojsnew/index.php/ej/article/view/336 Mon, 29 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Student Learning Autonomy Transformation through the ‘Source-Grounded AI’ Feature of NotebookLM in the Basic Japanese Course I (A Case Study of International Relations Students at Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani) https://scieclouds.com/ojsnew/index.php/ej/article/view/345
The increasing use of artificial intelligence in higher education has raised concerns about misinformation, overdependence, and the weakening of learner agency. This qualitative case study explores how NotebookLM, as a source-grounded AI tool, supports learner autonomy in Basic Japanese learning among International Relations students at Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani. The study was conducted in a Basic Japanese 1 course, where lecturer-curated materials were uploaded to the Learning Management System and used by students as the main knowledge base for NotebookLM-assisted learning. Data were collected through digital engagement observations, student reflective logs, and document analysis of Japanese curriculum vitae assignments. The findings show that NotebookLM supported students in verifying basic Japanese vocabulary, reviewing unfamiliar writing forms, revisiting course materials, and applying source-based expressions to personalized learning outputs. Evidence of learner autonomy appeared in students’ source consultation, independent vocabulary selection, self-monitoring, draft revision, and task-based decision-making. However, the study also found uneven patterns of AI use. Some students used NotebookLM critically as a learning support tool, while others tended to rely on it mainly for information retrieval. The findings suggest that NotebookLM does not automatically guarantee accuracy, eliminate AI hallucinations, or produce autonomous learners. Its pedagogical value depends on curated materials, clear task design, lecturer guidance, students’ digital literacy, and reflective learning practices. The study concludes that source-grounded AI can strengthen scaffolded autonomy when integrated responsibly into foreign language education, especially for beginner learners from non-language-major backgrounds. It offers a model for AI-assisted language learning that balances innovation, verification, and learner responsibility.
Electra Septarani, Dasim Budimansyah, Encep Syarief Nurdin, Warlim, Yuliani Hermaningsih, Akhmadi Waridyanto Copyright (c) 2026 Educia Journal http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ https://scieclouds.com/ojsnew/index.php/ej/article/view/345 Mon, 29 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Analysis of the Needs for Developing an Interactive Video-Based Learning Management System (LMS) in Physical Education Learning https://scieclouds.com/ojsnew/index.php/ej/article/view/367
This study aimed to analyze the need for developing an interactive video-based Learning Management System (LMS) for Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning. The study used a quantitative descriptive design with survey and observation methods. The participants were 201 Grade VIII students, consisting of 98 males and 103 females aged 13 to 15 years, and one PJOK teacher. Data were collected using a student needs questionnaire and an observation sheet on school technology readiness. The questionnaire consisted of 18 items and showed excellent reliability with a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.980. Data were analyzed using descriptive percentage analysis, while observation data were interpreted descriptively. The findings showed that students had strong needs for flexible learning access, mobile-based learning materials, instructional videos, independent practice guidance, and more engaging PJOK learning experiences. The highest needs appeared in independent practice outside school, mobile accessibility, flexible learning access, and preference for engaging learning experiences. Observation results showed that the school had adequate technological infrastructure, including computers, LCD projectors, internet access, digital communication platforms, cameras, and audio systems. However, the use of technology in PJOK learning remained limited, especially in instructional videos, interactive applications, motion analysis tools, digital feedback, and LMS integration. These findings indicate a clear gap between available technological facilities and their use in PJOK instruction. Therefore, an interactive video-based LMS is relevant as a complementary learning system that supports teacher instruction, strengthens students’ independent practice, and improves learning flexibility in PJOK. Future development should prioritize simple, accessible, and practical first-stage features.
Bagus Abdul Najid, Rajip Mustafillah Rusdiyanto Copyright (c) 2026 Educia Journal http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ https://scieclouds.com/ojsnew/index.php/ej/article/view/367 Mon, 29 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700 The Role of Principals’ Collaborative Leadership in Developing the Seven Habits of Great Indonesia Children at SDN Petarangan https://scieclouds.com/ojsnew/index.php/ej/article/view/363
This study analyzes the role of the principal’s collaborative leadership in developing the Seven Habits of Great Indonesian Children at SDN Petarangan. The study was grounded in the need to strengthen character education through school culture, stakeholder participation, and consistent habituation practices at the elementary school level. A qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design was employed to obtain an in-depth understanding of leadership practices in their natural school context. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving one principal, five teachers, one educational staff member, and one chairperson of the school committee. The data were validated through source and technique triangulation and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the principal implemented collaborative leadership through open communication, regular coordination, shared decision-making, teacher coaching, role modeling, parental involvement, and collective evaluation. The Seven Habits program was implemented through daily habituation activities, including morning greetings, discipline routines, classroom cleanliness, literacy activities, group cooperation, religious activities, and polite behavior. These activities supported the development of students’ discipline, responsibility, independence, cooperation, social care, creativity, and integrity within daily school life and broader school community relationships. However, the implementation still faced challenges, including inconsistent student habituation, limited parental involvement, and time constraints between academic targets and character-building activities. The study concludes that collaborative principal leadership functions as a strategic mechanism for building a sustainable character-based school culture through stakeholder engagement, shared responsibility, and continuous character habituation practices.
Ardita Rizky Amalia, Meirina Nugraheni, Tri Wahyuni, Nurkolis Copyright (c) 2026 Educia Journal http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ https://scieclouds.com/ojsnew/index.php/ej/article/view/363 Tue, 30 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700
