Abstract

This research aims to determine the role played by the Regional Government, namely the Culture and Tourism Service and the Village Government in developing coastal tourism potential in Maros Regency. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive research type, namely research to obtain an overview and understand and explain research data based on the results of observations, in-depth interviews, documentation, online data and literature studies. The explanation of the research results is adjusted to three indicators of the government's role, namely regulator, dynamist and facilitator. The results of this research explain the role played by the Culture and Tourism Service, Ampekale Village and Nisombalia Village Governments in developing coastal tourism in their respective villages.
